Dan, Haydee and I have been on the air almost 3 years. We have the longest running program on WEUS and we have covered just about everything and anything. We are very passionate and make certain the information gathered is not subjective but factual so we invite you to please check out the archives and join us on the journey we have undertaken to share and inform. Yes Dan, we cover politics so that we can have a conversation a much needed one given the current circumstances and views of our time, Yo Soy Latino is about the dialogue, the beginning of conversation so that we can meet in the middle and understand how much more we are all alike then not. Please keep listening, do get involved, share your thoughts, and join us in conversation....
Dan from Sanford on Sunday, September 25, 2011 said: You ask, "Shouldn’t we care more about our children then we care about our political positions?" But all I ever hear you talk about is political positions. As always it’s good to hear from you on and off the air. I'm wondering though as you do listen to the program, what are you views when I speak of the 20 million children going to bed hungry each night; or, when we speak about the increase in welfare request or that welfare has nearly doubled, that 1/6 Americans are now in poverty? What are your thoughts when we speak about people living in the woods or citizens being denied the ability to feed these same people who through no fault of their own find themselves in this situation?.......What were or are your thoughts when we speak about women issues or their rights or the abuses still fielded against them? What about equality in the work place? What are your views when we are speaking about Education, the cut backs, the safety concerns, the assault on our children by the very people who we entrust to educate and provide some sort of leadership? Surely Dan you don't consider these political positions? What about health care that covers all children is that political or something we, you and I and even the politicians should be able to rap those minds around? What about when Yo Soy Latino speaks to writers and groups about how they got to where they are today, their thoughts, their visions but more important how they might influence a young soul out there to becoming the next big thing? Is that political?
Can we now add "Let-em Die to NO"? and Guest Appearance by Dr. Sheela By Jose Miranda September 17, 2011 Orlando — Charles Dickens, “A Tale of Two Cities” once wrote: It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all going direct the other way - in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only. We live in times when truth is not believed even when it’s laid out in plain sight. Why is that? What causes the average person to suddenly act like they are on another planet where common senses have been overwhelmed and all that is left is an abyss that is easily filled with nonsense. Clearly our political system is a maze of hypocrisy with one set eagerly pushing the other set with half-truths and outright lies and what’s left because of the times we are living in are some type of zombies wishing for days of yore. Simpler times where Ozzie & Harriet, Leave it to Beaver reigned supreme but you guys always knew that wasn’t real right? There are no days of yore only the right now and America has some issues to get over. America has forgotten hope and determination or at least has placed a hold on the concept and taken to believing the bullshit. Saturday Ysl with Jose and Haydee brought their “A” game once again to remind there listening audience that it’s up to us to make the difference to make this the best of our times This month is Cancer awareness and Ysl was joined by Dr. Harinath Sheela of Digestive
You ask, "Shouldn’t we care more about our children then we care about our political positions?" But all I ever hear you talk about is political positions.
Who's the party of no, now? Hahahahahaha! The demcrat's own Harry reid votes against gov;t funding. Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!
At the risk of sounding rude I would like to clear up a few details. Our nation was founded on liberals. Even so, liberals (as you indicated here) espouse a wide array of views depending on ones understanding -- democracy, free and fair elections, human rights, civil liberties, capitalism (yes, capitalism), free trade, and freedom of religion. Being open-minded and progressive should be the embodiment of our society, not frown upon by narrow minded individuals who solve problems by noting some misguided information just to get attention. Further, I am always impressed when Hispanics like you are able to put together 21 words in a row. Perhaps if you would put down your comic books, crayons and iPod long enough to read the appropriate journals and reports by the varied bipartisan independent researchers and fact checkers you might actually have a clue as to what’s going on around you. I am indeed heartened by the fact that you are at least showing some signs of intelligence by listening to Yo Soy Latino where all our information is checked and corroborated by at least two independent sources before being aired. Mr. Rodriguez if you truly want to engage yourself with meaningful events and gain some knowledge might I suggest going to some Hispanic events and learning what the rest of us already know about the differences between Politics, Policy and bullshit. Actually, there is an upcoming event that could interest you. It’s on "Redistricting" scheduled for 9/21 at the Orange County Administration Building, in the BCC Chambers, 201 South Rosalind Avenue, Orlando, Florida 32801, which is directed at diminishing the voting strength of Hispanics and Black citizens. But thank you for listening to Yo Soy Latino and sharing those 21 words of wisdom.
More libtard stuff. All what you liberals want to do is take other people's money and play with it. Grow up.
I've gotta ask about your comment that Ron Paul is ridiculous...how so? Just saying something like that without citations means little. Also, your guest at the bottom of the hour was totally wrong. Ron Paul doesn't want "no government" like this freak claims. Why didn't you call him out on that, because I'm sure you know bett6er than that....
Kelly Yo Soy Latino is constantly moving forward with innovative and fresh ideas. We believe in delivering customizable format-specific news not just opinions or conjecture but media content that actually represent the progressive political point of view, as oppose to conservative talk radio. Our format is devoted to expressing progressive viewpoints and as you’re probably aware, our nation was in fact founded by progressive individuals who have had to fight reactionary and conservative people every inch of the way in order to protect children’s right, women’s rights, gay rights, animal rights, abortion rights, civil rights and all the other “basic” progressive rights. These fundamentals have not come easily; and, now the reactionaries in our midst want to undo all the progress that was made through the years. So why are we going backwards? Could it be because selected majorities have become too extreme and polarized, and more importantly, have forgotten why they were elected into office? Perhaps by your standards we are a bit controversial even radical and maybe we don’t believe in smoke screens because being taught that honesty, truth and justice are important especially when many Americans here and across our nation are suffering. Nonetheless, we do try to be fair by bringing our listeners a diverse lineup of guests. We appreciate you taking the time to voice your view and hope you’ll continue to do so in the future.
Just waht do you mean by "progressive" as it says in your show description? Bowing to the liberal elite is progressive?

That is an interesting narrative. The use of weather to depict the economic upheaval in today’s politics. The writer’s use of the word "tornado" as a metaphor to warn and describe the divide between parties is meritorious. Such an approach should inspire many callers on your show today with varying opinions. I look forward to listening it. Laurie M.
Hello Jose your show is fantastic and so are you. Thanks for hanging out with me, your one and only angel.
The Yo Soy Latino radio show is very much true to form. We examine many issues and cover various topics. Dealing in the arts to the different Latino cultures and races as seen by the tremendous roster of guests who have graced our doors. However, for the past few weeks there have been critical issues that needed to be address on the air because they affect not only the Hispanic community but everyone else as well. While many Hispanics are quite enlightened, others don’t take an interest and are not aware of what’s going on around them. We at YSL do our best to spread the word. Now if you have some specific area that you would like us to address we would love to hear from you. Send us an email at yosoylatino5@aol.com. We value everyone’s opinion and don’t consider anything lame. Thank you for taking the time to reach out and sharing with us.
Why do you call your show Yo Soy Latino? I never hear you talk about Hispanic stuff. All I hear is politics. Lame.
Your Obama has actually signed the PATRIOT Act; while running for president he was being opposed to it. What a LIAR!
Hey liberal Jose; why did your liberal politicians vote for the PATRIOT act?
Jose, you're an ex-cop. What do you think about the asshole cop who threw down the 100 lb woman in Orlando, breaking her teeth, then charging HER with battery to a LEO? When are we going to call OPD out on these abuses of power? And why aren't you leading the charge? There's a local topic we can all get behind!
Hey, leave the boy alone! I use his rubbers all the time!
Pedro! Get back home and clean your room! And quit wasting your money on rubbers! You know they'll never get used for anything!
This should be interesting. Seeing as how liberals have given us all notice that we cannot criticize a black politician without being racist, how will they approach Herman Cain? He's ten times smarter than Obama (Who isn't though? I should watch those left-handed compliments.) and is, well, let's just lay it on the table...he's black. Most liberal apologists will point out there is a difference between criticizing a black president and criticizing a black presidential hopeful. That's a fair cop. And something we'll be remembering in 2012 when Cain wins by a landslide.
Nobama in 2012.
This show is a complete train wreck. Did you even complete high school?
I heard your show yesterday, and I enjoy it. But I've noticed that you like to say that people who don't agree with Obama are racist. This is crazy. Since you'r latino and didn't agree with Bush, doesn't that make YOU racist? Or is it only when someone diagrees with your favorites?
Dear Mr. Galt: Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. Though, I must say it is hilarious that you should take to conclude what I know or don’t know. Your comment, “don’t quit your day job” is by no means a classic. However, YSL is not about me, it about a collective interest and building something that serves a greater good, the community. No one likes to hear punditry delivered, least of all me. As a journalist, much of what I say falls within facts, not an ideological viewpoint. However, if you would like to discuss, feel free to send in a personal email to host@yosoylatino.us and we can exchange viewpoints, perhaps even a face-to-face on the air for a fair exchange of dialogue. I look forward to hearing from you. Jose Miranda
I listened to the show for the first time on this past Saturday. My advice is to not quit your day job.

Tbe party of "no," you mean Democrats? "No, you can't keep your hard earned money, you must pay more taxes." "No, you cannot have freedom, you will have what we tell you to have." "No, you cannot have freedom of speech unlerss you clear it through us first." That's the Party of No!
You have a valid question Ramon. The reason our radio (program and website) is called Yo Soy Latino is because we reach out to those Hispanics that do not speak Spanish but enjoy listening to radio which also includes them. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.
You have a good thing. Look forward to the New Year.
Hi. I hope you speak Spanish. It´ll be more easely for me because of my bad English.
Just had to stop by to say I really enjoy your radio show; a great mix of topics. Plus I just love your voice ~ :) Keep up the good work.
Great things are happening!
I have not yet had the opportunity of listening to your show. Great job on the website. I was referred here by the Friends of Deltona Library. I am one of the Authors who will be present at the Author's fair in October. The title of my book is "Ruth Minerva." I will be looking forward listening to your next show. Highlights of Today's Show.... Interview with Avaiator, Politician Tom Garcia and the return of Magali Rassel Director of Multilingual Services of Orange County July 17, 2010 By: Anthony Gaenzle ORLANDO, Fla. – This weekend’s installment of Yo Soy Latino brought back a familiar face. Magali Rassel, one of the Directors of Multilingual Students Education Services Department, sat down with hosts Jose Miranda and Haydee Ayala, to revisit their previous discussion about the state’s educational system. The conversation focused mainly on the need for multilingual education in Florida’s school. Rassel fielded calls from guests and answered questions from Miranda and Ayala, involving a range of topics from the funding of ESOL (Education for Speakers of Other Languages), to the composition and responsibilities of the teachers that have taken on this important task. For more information on Magali Rassel you can contact her by phone at 407.312.3200 or by email at magali.rassel@ocps.net. Later in the show, Commander Tom Garcia, a former Naval Fighter Pilot, stopped by Yo Soy Latino, hot on the campaign trail. He spoke with the hosts about his intentions to run for Congress and to change the way Florida’s politics are practiced. Garcia’s impressive resume boasts credentials such as; Naval Academy graduate, fighter pilot, member of the Republican Party of Florida’s Hispanic Leadership Council, reception of a presidential medal, and much more. During the latter part of the interview, a listener called in with some tough criticism. Garcia stepped up to the plate, handling the questions with ease. By the end of the called he seemed to have won over, at least in part, the opposing caller, showcasing an example of his political savvy. For more information on Garcia, please visit http://tomgarciaforcongress.com or call his campaign headquarters at 386.314.0494 or drop him an email atstaff@garcia4congress.com. Tune in next week to WEUS Big
Kelli, I do understand your dilemma but let me point out to you that many states did receive millions of dollars in stimulus monies. Yes, much was spent on state budgets that where already in the red, some went to Education, Police and Firemen, some even to infrastructure Highways and such and I’m sure their was monies that where wasted. I know it may be tough to hire however what if you hired someone part time their by helping to provide during these hard time someone with half a loaf of something then all of nothing if you get my drift. This didn’t happen over night and it took many administrations to get to this place both Democratic and Republican and it isn’t the fault of this President he just happens to be the guy where the buck finally stops here. I know things will get better because I know what this country can do when we stop fighting each other and come together…. There can be no black or white or brown or green but one people coming together….We must find common ground…..Their are bills being proposed now in congress that will help the small business owners but as you know there are also those who are being obstructionist holding back and preventing things from going forward …this is what I am refereeing to when I say we must find common ground Thank you for your words and for listening to Yo Soy Latino
If the individual businessperson's being taxed to death (I am one and I know, I run a beauty salon), how are we supposed to hire new people like you suggested at the end of your show today? I sure didn't get any stimulis money. Look at who did. Mostly government agencies. Fat lot of good that does me, honey.
Interview with Ramon A. Ojeda June 5, 2010 ORLANDO, Fla. — Today’s show was filled with good-nature amusing mayhem as boys will be boys impressing their playful talents on the air. YSL’s host Jose Miranda and our very own engineer Raul engaged in some colorful amusing banter that just didn’t stop throughout the first-half of the hour. The Lady of the airways our co-host Haydee Ayala was away handling family matters which entailed the christening of her granddaughter but she did provide the team with a full program. Regrettably, our distinguished guest, Ramon Ojeda, the President of the Hispanic Chambers of Commerce in Metro-Orlando was a no-show for this week’s program. However, that did not perturb Miranda the least bit as the show continued smoothly without a hitch and, before long Jose and Raul returned to that hot button topics, politics — discussing in part the issue of former GOP leader Greer who was charged with six counts of fraud and grand theft, to the situation involving the White House the oil spill and BP then on to the unemployment issues of 170,000 people losing their benefits to the events of South Carolina. Where a sitting U.S. Senator made a remark about the female Gubernatorial candidate who happens to be of Indian decent said "We already have one rag head in the White House. We don't need another one in the Governors mansion”. This latter issue set off a lively debate with our listeners about the silent 300 lb. gorilla called race. Even though some topics can be hot YSL offers an open forum for all to unlock their views whether we agree or not, we can agree to disagree. So come back next week and join Jose, Haydee and the YSL team as you just don’t know what you’ll be missing. Don’t forget now, if it’s Saturday and Noon time fix those radio dials to the BIG810 WEUS AM because it’s time for the Yo Soy Latino radio hour.
Hey...I tried to call in twice today and no one answered the phone. Whassssssup?
I can't understand what you mean by your statement that what Rand Paul said is somehow racist against Obama. You've been drinking way to much of the democrat's mojitos, friend.
May 22nd Guest Interviews with Ronald Blocker and Robert Hill By Anthony Gaenzle Ronald Blocker Interview ORLANDO, Fla. – Jose Miranda, host of Yo Soy Latino, sat down in the studio of BIG 810 AM with Ronald Blocker, superintendent of Orange County Public Schools, to discuss the condition of our state’s educational system. Blocker has held the position of superintendent in one of the nation’s top 10 school districts since 2000. He has spent the last ten years making an earnest effort to change the reputation of Florida’s schools. For years, Florida’s educational system has been at the bottom part of all 50 states. Blocker has been working diligently to repair the system’s tarnished reputation. During the interview, Miranda and Blocker covered various concerns facing our schools, including the cutting of paraprofessionals who assist students, for whom English is a second language, in making a smooth transition. With approximately 160 languages and dialects being spoken in public schools across Orange County, the task of integrating these students can prove quite difficult. Miranda and Blocker covered topics ranging from the way in which Florida’s stimulus money was divided, to administration of bi-lingual education. The atmosphere became a bit heated when Haydee raised the issue of violence and bullying in our schools. Blocker stressed that the goal was to keep the students on the right path. He cited programs such as alternative schooling as a way to combat the problem. The citizens of Florida are extremely passionate about the education of our state’s children and the conversation certainly did not disappoint. Visit the show archives to listen to Jose Miranda’s interview with Superintendent Blocker. Robert Hill Interview ORLANDO, Fla. – Robert Hill, artistic director of the City Beautiful’s cherished Orlando Ballet, phoned in to Yo Soy Latino to discuss the present, past, and future of the company with host Jose Miranda. Hill, who once
Thank you for your comments as short of ideas as it was. Perhaps the subject was too much for you to understand or you just lacked the ability to get the over all picture. The point of the program is to promote the exchange of ideas in an open forum not a close minded one So thank you for trying
Man, why you want to go on about that papers stuff? It ain't even funny, ese.
You had a great show today. Please put me on your mailing list melodyjnes@yahoo.com.

Merry Christmas to Jose, Haydee, and all the listeners. Here's hoping for a great New Year as well.

Good evening. I am a Latina living in Louisiana and have had the opportunity to listen to the show via the internet. I find it very refreshing and informative. The topics that I have listened to have been great. I wish Jose, Haydee and the staff the very best and continue the great work. Sincerely, Diana
I wanted to thank you for a great program, and let you know that I very much enjoyed your show. The quality of conversation and content discussed, as well as your excellent guest made for a valuable listening experience for your listeners. Thank you Jose and Haydee, your shows are inspiring. Good luck to you both!
Yes I too read the article in the Orlando Weekly yesterday. However, Mr. Melendez (Edward) is not and I repeat not a relation of mine. Further the alledged violation of law was for an antiquated 1864 law that was last used in 1926 any other charges where dropped because they were all circumstantial lacking any violation of law. However, as you read on an offer was made By the District Attorneys Office to Mr. Melendez, which he accepted to put an end to this ordeal. These are the simple facts of the case. Though I am mentioned in the article a few times, it is by association. These charges were NOT directed at me or at the NLOA but I do appreciate your taking the time to share your views with me.
Whoa! Just read the Orlando Weekly. So you're cousins with this weird guy Edward?
Just wanted to say I enjoy your show and that your guests are great. Good job!
I really enjoy your show! I utilize the internet tool and listen via the mp3 audio since I am in NY. Great show and you have a definite fan here in NY!
Thank you for taking a moment to lodge your concerns with us. True we do lean towards the Hispanic and African-American communities but all ethnicities are welcome. Our objective as you may be aware is to communicate and serve the community by highlighting positive role models and ideals. While we do reach out to many guests locally, there are moments when one has to source outside the state due to extenuating factors that prevail. We book our guest 3-4 weeks in advance and sometime availability is a concern. With regard to your query, Commission Linda Stewart is running for Mayor and Gino Feliciani is the Division Chief for Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit of the State Attorney’s office. Awareness is important, it fuels the mind and some of us get too wrapped up in the day to day activities that we miss newsworthy information. We at Yo Soy Latino help to bring these views to our listeners allowing them to reach an intelligent conclusion. Let me ask you this while I have your attention. Is there someone in particular you would like us to reach out to? Let us know and we’ll do our best to get them on the show.
I thought this was a show for Latinos and African-Americans. Why Linda Chapin and this other guy? Whenever you DO have a Latino on the show, it's always someone from someplace else. What's the deal, your homes ain't good enough for the show? No interesting Latinos in Orlando? Just something for you to think about.
Good Morning Yo Soy Latino. I really enjoy your radio show and the topics you cover. I’ve been listening to your program for a while now and your shows are getting more insightful and entertaining as the weeks go on so I wanted to let you know this is one listener that appreciates all you do. Thank you! Brenda

Hey Buddy, I just started listening to your show; you do a good job, and Moore was cool. Keep up the good work.
I enjoyed your Saturday program with Shannye Moore. She’s a very sharp woman and I can see how you would be mesmerized by her thinking process. It was a good interview and not at all lackluster, your biggest fan Haydee.
Conversations on the show are meant to solicit dialogue that otherwise would remain unspoken. It is not necessarily the viewpoints held by individuals. However, in an open forum nothing should be excluded so that everything hidden is revealed, thereby allowing for a “fair and open” discussion to bring forward the various aspects and opinions of others on the outside. It’s already unfortunate that a vast majority hold a negative point of view of the third world issues; and, by not airing these views we will not reach a middle ground of commonality. It is in disclosing these opinions of the general public that one is ultimately reached. Further, if there is an untruth that too will reveal itself. Thank you for submitting your comments and viewpoint to us. Comments are always welcomed, negative or positive. However, aren’t you by your statement making the same inaccuracy?
I hear Jose Mirandas on a Peoples Power Hour show today and I was deeply offended at his statement that he thinks all people from middle east look same and have dots as Hindus. I must tell others not to hear your show or Peoples Power Hour show.
I, too, enjoyed your Michael Jackson tribute. How did you come up with this?
This was my first time listening to the show and it was great! The writers you featured were fantastic :)
Hello Yo SOy Latino your show is fantastic and your tribute to Michael Jackson is great
Q: Did you hear about the new McDonalds McJackson sandwich? A: It's a 50 year old slab of meat between two 12 year old buns.
Hello everyone I wanted to thank everyone who has dropped by to say hello and leave us your comments and well wishes. Please continue to leave us your thoughts and do give us your ideas for new shows or things you might like to speak about...I look forward to seeing your thoughts and please sign in with your e-mails on our web site so we can get the news letter out to you...Again thank you for making YSL such a great success...warmest regards ..Jose
You're going a great job, love the program.

hello and congratulations on your show. I was looking around and saw that you had Dr.Nogales on your show but couldn't find the interview in the archives. Will you have her soon? I hope you do... Thank you and keep up the good work
Subject: Family Requests Birthday Cards Date: Mon, 25 May 2009 14:26:39 -0400 There is a wounded soldier at the Fisher House in Fort Sam Houston, Texas by the name of Sgt. David Thornhill. Sgt. Thornhill lost both legs and I think both arms as well as being burned on 56% of his body while serving this country in Iraq. He has been at the Fisher House for 2 years and his parents have reached out for support. They are not asking for money or anything like that, but they are asking for as many service members, veterans, and others as possible to please send him a birthday card. His birthday is this coming week and it would be nice if a lot of us send him a birthday card to show him how much we love him for what he has sacrificed for his country. His parents are worried about his emotional status and he hardly ever has visitors. Let's help this soldier and send him a lot of cards. Show your love. Mailing address: Sgt. Hello Mustafa Jones, Thank you for pointing that out to me and for listening to Yo Soy Latino. I truly appreciate your thoughts and comments. I was referencing a comment made by Henty Allingham, the oldest living WW1 veteran
Here you are, Jose! You've been ignoring us at the People Power Hour site. That's a bad boy. We like bad boys, right Connie?
I am a huge fan, I listen to your show every Saturday, and it’s a part of my routine. You are an inspiration to our Latino community. Your views are refreshing and inspiring and comical a times. You have the sexiest voice on radio. I wish you continued success and look forward to many more shows. Your biggest fan, Connie
I heard you mention on the show (May 23) the lack of WW1 memorials; there are three that I know of. One is at Arlington National Cemetary, another is at the National Mall. The other is the offical United States WW1 Museum located in Kansas City, Mo. I'm sure there are others, but I've actually been to those three.
Please send our love and prayers to Bridgette. She deserves a chance at life and we all should ralley together and make it happen. Thank you for all you are trying to do.
I was so looking forward to your show this Saturday it just wasn’t the same not hearing you or Haydee. You have a good thing going and I especially enjoy the genre of subjects. That was brilliant writing an explanation on your blog as to what happen. Keep up the good work as I’ll still be listening!
You have a great show, we listen every sat. Keep up the good work.
I like the radio show; a great mix of topics. Keep up the good work.
No. Flowers are sweet but unnecessary. If you really want to do something for your girl take her out to a nice lunch or dinner and include her children because that's what mother's day is about, not all this commercialism or hype.
Nice show, nice bald head. Any chance at having a remote from the Parliament House? You'd start a riot, hottie!
Great show Jose!
I really like Haydee being on the show; a woman's touch is a good thing! Keep up the good work! :-)
Good show about the cigars; what happened, because sometimes the guy was cut off when it was time for commercials? Shout out to Haydee!
Hey, looking forward to hearing more. Cool show! It's a good idea that you ahve all of the shows to listen to online. Too bad you don't have the first one.
This is a Great Show. You have a good thing here.
The website is looking good! I liked having Haydee on the show; you should have her on more often. Good luck and keep it up!
I missed the introduction but picked up on the fashion advice—from the colors for this summer to the silhouettes especially how to dress your body and how to compliment the hips with a tunic and scarf. That was really good. I liked the way Heide talked about embracing yourself, being bold, hot and sexy. Thanks, I enjoy it!!! And, the fine points on Immigration were first-class. Good luck Jose on your show, it’s an excellent program.
Congratulations on the new web site. I'm looking forward to you finishing it. I like the show, too.
